Helping others
Everyone knows that there is a large part of the world's population who quite literally, exist. It is difficult to say that they live in poverty, as that is a major understatement. They exist day to day in conditions that most people cannot even imagine. People who live on the streets in Canada, the USA and other countries are living in luxurious splendor by comparison. What is being done about this situation? Well, collectively many countries have thrown billions of dollars into solving the problems. Has it done any good? Yes, to a very limited degree. Does it resolve the problems on a long term basis? No.
I have been looking at the medical and education services that are available in many countries, and am focusing on where my business skills can best be applied. We will be creating portable medical clinics and labs, using 40' intermodular steel building units (ISBUs) and converting them into mobile treatment facilities. These will be placed in villages in countries where they are badly needed, while still allowing them to service other nearby villages. The staffing of these units will be by trained local personnel, with volunteer doctors and nurses from other countries assisting. The advantage to such units will be that they are easily transportable from Canada and the USA, easily transportable once in the host country, and easily movable as needed. The cost of each of these clinics, fully furnished, will approximate $400,000. We also anticipate furnishing at least one ISBU as a fully equipped operating room, with an accompanying laboratory.
In addition, we will be supplying ISBUs to be used as school classrooms. Each ISBU will provide space for approximately 12 students, and it is just a matter of connecting as many ISBUs together as are needed for any one school. The units are welded together and then the interior walls are removed as required for each specific school.
